Mypyramid.gov is the center for nutrition policy and promotion and it is an organization of the U.S. Agriculture and it was created 1994 with aims of improving the health of Americans. The organization states that it has two primary goals. One it wants to advance and promote dietary guidance for all Americans. Two it wants conduct applied research and analysis in nutrition and consumer economics. The organization offers Americans dietary guidance, a food guidance system, a healthy food eating index, U.S. Food Plans, nutrient content of the U.S. food supply, and expenditures on children by families. The homepage is full of news and information on various foods. On the right side of the homepage users can perform such actions of looking up a food, finding what’s available, creating a personalized plan, learning about healthy eating tips, learning about the food groups, getting weight loss information, planning a healthy menu, analyze their diet, print their pyramid material, and ask questions. The bottom of the homepage organizes information into different categories such as grain group, vegetable group, fruit group, milk group, meat & bean group, oils, discretionary calories, physical activity, and tips and resources. Users will also find other information organized under my pyramid basics, interactive, multimedia, and special audiences.
