Yell.com is an online database of businesses in the United Kingdom. You can browse through the site’s list by putting in the type of business you are looking for and/or the name of a specific business or a general location. When you search, you get a list of businesses, as well as a small map of the area in which you have searched with all of your results tagged. Each result has the business’ address, phone number, and information. You can also get directions from wherever you want to the business complete with a map by clicking on the Map & Directions button or send them an email. In addition to the list and maps, each search gets you related articles, tips, advice, and videos. The site has a general map function that you can use similarly to Google Maps that does not have to include businesses. The Videos section of the site has videos about the various businesses featured in its database. The front page has a list of popular searches for wherever you last searched, as well as a list of popular locations in the UK in which to search. At the bottom of the page are links to information about the Yellow Pages and the site’s iPhone application.
