Today so many young kids are growing up in this country, and they barely know any thing about the history of the country, and worst part is that some of them are not even trying to learn it. But for these who are making an effort I am glad to see a website like this one that can help them. Ushistory.org was created 1995, by the Independence Hall Association, to support its mission to educate the public about the Colonial and Revolutionary eras of our nation's history, and of Philadelphia generally. Their very first project was a Virtual Tour of Philadelphia's Historic District, which is one of The Most Historic Mile in America. Today, the site has grown into a Congress of Websites, which is a combination of original content, websites of partner organizations, and advocacy support websites. Like I mention before, their visitors tend to be those interested in historic Philadelphia either as tourists or as local residents, as well as those interested in our history generally, including students, teachers, and interested adults. Some of their partners include four of the 25 Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission historic sites. Brandywine Battlefield, Washington Crossing Historic Park, Hope Lodge Historic Site, Graeme Park, The Friends of Independence National Historical Park, and so much more.
