Twitpic.com is a service provided by Twitpic, Inc, that allows Twitter.com users to share photos on their pages.
The homepage features the latest uploaded photos, as well as a map featuring the usernames and locations of the members who recently posted photos through the service. Each uploaded photo is given a Twitpic page that displays a link to the user’s page, as well as the date the photo was added, the number of times the photo has been viewed, and the tags on the photo. Visitors can also view the photo in full size, rotate the photo, and post comments about the photo.
Visitors log in to the site using their Twitter username and password, and are redirected to an account page where they can view their profile information, comments, public timeline, and posted photos. The ‘Upload a Photo’ link at the top of the page lets users upload photos in GIF, JPG, and PNG file format. Users can add a message about their photo and post it to their Twitter page as well. Users can also add photos from their cell phone by sending photos to a designated email address provided by Twitpic.
The ‘API’ section displays information on posting images as status updates. The ‘Blog’ provides additional guidance on using the service, as well as job openings and updates directly from the service creators/providers.
