Travelpod.com was first in 1997. The website allows users to share their trips using the travel blog. Users can post information about past trips, and future trips. IF they wish, users can update their travels blogs during their trips. The website helps users keep their friends, and family informed about their trips. A user can make his or her blog private or public. A user can even notify others through email when an update has been made on their blog. All users have to do is create a free account in order to get started. The homepage is segmented into four sections: recent trips, featured trips, informational section, and top 40 destinations. The recent trips section features the newest posts, and the travel location. From the same section users can find recent blogs, photos, and videos. The featured sections display some very eventual trips. The informational section contains links to the travel forum, the buzz, Travelpod news, and other quick links. In the top 40 destinations users will find a list of 40 locations and hotels. Users can also be redirected to other travel services such as flight, hotels, cars, hostels, tours, cheap flights, and travel insurance from the website.
