This is the online version of the San Francisco Chronicle, a daily newspaper for the greater San Francisco area, which includes global news, regional information, classifieds, and entertainment.

Under the top stories of the day, and frequently updated news items, you can scroll down through the sections of the paper, which are collapsed with article summaries and mainly all accompanied with relevant thumbnails. You may choose to vote in user polls, called “Reader Views,” and can view the “Picture of the Day,” and various other multimedia. At the top of the home page there is the option to sign up for home delivery, which is a simple walkthrough process that involves selecting a subscription and paying online. When signing up, you can choose to be occasional recipients of e-mails directly from selected advertisers and affiliates of SFGate.com regarding new features, products and services. Once registered, you can create your own profile page, your own blog and your own photo galleries, add comments to articles and staff & reader blogs, create and interact in your network of other SFGate users, tailor news from SFGate and other sources, and subscribe to SFGate newsletters, which contain prominent news of the day.

You can view the daily paper as it appears on stands, which has a very spare interface with many links in small font and very few images. Along the top of the home page of today’s paper, you can view current weather and traffic conditions, as well as stock market updates.
