Salon.com is one of the internet’s best online magazines for information such as books, comic books, entertainment, movies, and more. It has many features such as the yahoo search toolbar displayed at the top of the website. Giving any reader the option to not only search within the Salon website, but also straight to the web from the site’s homepage. On the homepage as well is an array of videos and links leading to different news stories that are pertinent to the date displayed. At the very bottom of the site is an applet that helps to find specific stories depending on the date and title of the story at question. On the left side of the site, there is a multitude of links categorized by how often they are updated: daily or weekly. Below those links are links to the podcast of Salon.com and also other ways to communicate with the editor and other members of the staff. On the opposite side of the page is a list of “Wires 24/7”, which seem to be just a collection of different stories put together by different writers. At the bottom of the page again is a different way to be social using the site; there is a person finder, similar to personals in a newspaper. But all in all, Salon.com is an excellent online resource to find current news stories and other information that may be needed. It also provides a delightful social networking feature that couples nicely with the rest of the website.
