Jlab.org is the website for The Thomas Jefferson National Academy Facility. The Facility receives its funding from U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science and it receives support from the Newport newspaper. The facility’s function is to conduct basic research of the atom’s nucleus at the quark level. The website also has the aim to use the Free Electron Lasers based on technology developed in the lab to undertake physic experiments. O n the right side of the homepage users will find news highlights. They will also find on the homepage educational science links, lab events, and information about the latest research. The website organizes its navigation into two categories. In the first navigation category users will find the links: search, news, contact us, about Jlab, 12GeV, and insight. In the second navigation category users will fin the links: scientific program, public connections, and JLab at work. Within the links users will find the theory center, nuclear physics, higher education, accelerator science, current experiments, technology transfer, publications, division and departments, the image gallery, user information, and more. The website targets those who are in the research field and may not be very helpful or entertaining for the general public.
