house.gov is the official website of the United States House of Representatives. The website, unlike the House itself, has a fairly simple interface with not much scrolling. The primary users of this website would be those interested in the meeting schedules, documentation reviews and other activities performed by those in and around the US House of Representatives. The top of the website provides the address and phone number to reach the US House of Representatives, along with a search function to find out who your representative is by entering your zip code, rep name or committee name. There is also a link at the top of the page to write your representative a letter about basically anything you want. The home page of the site has a “Legislative Resources” section in the middle of the page with links to laws of the US, bills and voting information. The site also has links to pages for the speaker of the house, office of the clerk, visitor center and other resources. Clicking on any of these links will take you to the detailed section; for example, clicking on the “Speaker of the House” link will take you to a page with all pertinent details about the current speaker. Finally, there are educational links on the site where you can learn about how laws are made and enacted.
