The foodnetwork.com is the online home of the Food Network television show. Tabs allow a visitor to this site to choose Recipes & Cooking, Shows and Chefs. Additional tabs allow a visitor to choose Quick & Easy, Healthy Eating, Holiday Parties, In Season, Recipes on TV, Chef’s Recipes and Shop the Food Network. There are search boxes where a visitor can search for recipes according to certain criteria such as preparation time, entree choice, or by type such as desserts or sides. A user can also search for all recipes. Registered users have the option to save recipes. Once saved, these recipes are listed in a box named My Recipe Box. The top 5 most saved recipes are also available in this box.
A scrollable box features pictures of Chef’s from Food Network television shows. Links for a Chef’s most popular recipes, a brief bio and his or her show(s) on the Food Network are featured by a click on the Chef’s picture. Visitors may also search for recent episodes of shows by Chef’s name, the name of the show or date.
Shows that are currently and upcoming on the air are displayed in Eastern and Pacific Time zones. Links are available for the full schedule by day and time or by show name. Additional featured areas on the home page include monthly favorites, what’s on TV and Behind the Scenes.
Another scrollable block near the bottom of the page introduces the Food Network Family. These include the Food Network Magazine, Food.com, Fine Living, HGTVPro and the DIY Network. Via these links a visitor is taken to the another website accordingly.
The average visitors to this site are older, affluent females with no children.
