Ever since being founding in February 4, 2004 Facebook has become one of most of the most popular social networking websites on the internet. Featured in 36 languages and offering a clean and easy to follow user interface the website allows users to effectively communicate with friends and family. The Facebook page features a navigation bar at the bottom of the page: which contains buttons that are linked to a user’s applications, photos, events, groups, marketplace, top friends, and super wall. The “Application” button allows users to view applications that they have invitations to install or have installed. The “Photo” button takes users to a page them allows them to upload, manage and view their own photos, as well as view uploaded and tagged photos of others. The “Group” button allows users to view the current groups that they are apart of as well as the groups they have invitations to. The “Events” button allows users to view any up coming plans. The “Marketplace” button gives users the options to list advertisements for services they provide or products they need. The “Top friends” button directs users to a page that will easily let them access the pages of those who are closest to them. The “Super Wall” button directs users to a page that allows them to see their activity history on the site. A tool that has greatly contributed to the website’s success, also located on the navigation bar, is the integrated chat system. The feature allows users to talk to one another and view if their friends are online or not. Next to the textbox, a notification tool works in real time to alert users about in changes in their accounts. The upper navigation bar allows users to return to the website’s homepage, view their public profile, locate friends, and check mail. The site also makes it extremely easy for users to upload videos and news. The website does its best to offer tools that promote an online community.
