Ebay.co.uk is a UK online auction market place launched in 1999 by Ebay, Inc., a worldwide online marketplace.

The homepage showcases the latest deals and items for sale. The homepage also provides a list of categories, that once clicked, provide subcategories for easy browsing. Visitors can also find products by using the search bar, clicking the ‘Categories’ tab, which displays all product categories and subcategories; the ‘Shops’ links, which provides a list of member created eBay shops by category; the ‘eBay Motors Shop’ link, which provides a list of vehicle categories, parts, accessories, and a car finder tool; and the ‘Daily Deals’ link, which showcases current deals and promotions by item and price.

Once a category is clicked, a list of products in that category are displayed, along with price, shipping cost, and time remaining. Results can be sorted by best match, time listed, time ending, price, distance, payment method, and item condition.

Registration is required in order to bid on an item, communicate with a seller, or list an item. Visitors can create an account by clicking the ‘Register’ link at the top of the page.

Once registered, members can view their account summary by clicking the ‘My Ebay’ link at the top of the page. The account summary page displays the member’s feedback score and rating, items the member has bid on or purchased, items the member is selling or has sold, a list of buying and selling reminders, such as submitting payment and leaving feedback, and a list of items being watched by the member.

Member can buy an item by navigating to the product page of interest, clicking the ‘Place a Bid’ link and entering an amount over the minimum bid price. Members can view the seller’s feedback, send the seller a message or question, add the seller to their ‘Favorite Sellers’ list, and view the seller’s shop if available, by clicking the links under the ‘Meet the Seller’ section of the product page.

Members can sell an item by clicking the ‘Sell’ link at the top of the page and the ‘Start Selling’ link on the next screen. Members select a relevant product category for their item and create a detailed product page by filling in the required sections and adding a photo. Member can preview their listing, add features, and click the ‘List your item’ link to make the product page live. Members are billed on a monthly basis for the listings they create.

The ‘Community’ section provides links to the site’s chat rooms, forums, groups, blogs, answer center, news, and announcements.
