Dmoz is an open directory project. It is the largest human-edited directory of the web. It is constructed and maintained by a global community of volunteer editors. The website is divided with six tabs and a list of categories that have more specific titles within the categories. The Tabs are labeled about dmoz, dmoz blog, suggest URL, help, link, and editor login. The categories that make up most of the website are arts, business, computers, games, health, home, kids and teens, news, recreation, reference, regional, science, shopping, society, sports, and world. The websites home page also features a search bar that is an alternative to searching for what one is looking for through each individual category manually. At the bottom of the home page is a link box labeled “become an editor.” In order to become an editor one must click that category box on the page for which the visitor wants to become and editor of. For example, if the visitor wants to be the editor of the automotive section of the directory, he must find the automotive page and then click on the link box at the bottom of the page. To become and editor the website requests the users first and last name, a display name, an email address, a username as well as some sort answer questions.
