Archives.gov is the official website of the National Archives and Records Administration, and organization that archives documents and materials created in the course of business conducted by the United States Federal Government.

The homepage features archives by group, such as general public, researchers, and journalists, as well as a list of ‘Most Requested’ archives, including military service records, the declaration of independence, the constitution of the United States, World War 2 photos, genealogy resources, and emergency preparedness resources. The homepage also features news and events, links to the organization’s Youtube channel, and a National Archives location finder.

The ‘Subject Index’ section displays an alphabetical subject index of all the archived content on the site. The ‘What We Do’ section displays links to information about the organization, locations, a calendar of events, and National Archive news.

The ‘Explore & Interact’ section displays links to historic documents, online exhibits, and presidential libraries. The ‘Research & Order’ section displays links to incorporating the archives in research, ordering copies, documents, and publications online, and a list of forms. The ‘Federal Records’ section displays links to documents in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.

The ‘Participate in Government’ section displays links to the Federal Register, which displays federal laws, presidential documents, and administrative regulations and notices. This section also displays links to the Electoral College, the Inspector General, and a ‘Your Voice Matters’ section where the public can comment about regulations and policies. The ‘Apply For’ section displays links to employment opportunities and grants.
