This is a retail site that allows you to create cards tailored specifically to the major holidays of most religious faiths, to meaningful events in the lives of friends, family, and work colleagues, birthdays, flowers, and animal themes. These e-cards can be animated, and generally have accompanying sound clips. You can click through the menu at the top or along the left side or search a topic, and select a card of your choice. Clicking on the card brings you to a page that features the card up close, and displays other related cards. You can read and edit tags for the card, rate the card, and send it to a friend or colleague by clicking a button immediately below the card. You can post comments on the card, and read comments by other users.

When you choose to send the card, you must enter your name and email address, and can include a message, in rich text format, of unlimited length to your recipient. Next, fill out the name of your recipient and their email address. You can choose to be emailed notification when your friend has received the e-card. After it is delivered you can edit it or delete it even if it has been sent, and continue to track the status of the card. An easy way to track its status is by clicking on the tracking link in your email notification. You can enter your email address to receive a code which enables the "E-card Dashboard," which enables you have instant access to all the e-cards you've sent from 123Greetings in the last 30 days. Using this function you can change the date when your e-cards are supposed to get delivered.
