the Fox channel’s news site looks busy and bursting with news, but packs frothy, sensational headlines (“Hillary on Senate Grill” evokes a rather violent image), a panel with the latest news on “the fold” (at the bottom of the screen or where the fold would be on a newspaper) featuring such breaking news as “’Miricle’ baby born two days after mom dies”; and includes lots of faces to look at below the fold (seven blondes on the day I visited, January 13, 2009), and a photo for a Food story showed a woman about to put a hot dog into her mouth – tawdry, to say the least. It reminds me of the British tabloids, without the page-three-sexy-pin-up girl. There are links to Fox TV live news, and all the features, op-ed pages, and entertainment sections that any good newspaper would cover. Accepts adverts (for Fox programs and personalities).
