Founded in 1867, West Virginia University is the flagship land-grant, doctoral degree-granting research university in the state of West Virginia. As such, the institution occupies a unique position within the state. West Virginia University’s primary mission is to provide high-quality programs of instruction at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. Like many other universities know that tuition money can be hard for some student to get their hands, have created and approximately eight million dollars a year of awarded Scholars Program; in which more than five thousand students benefit from annually. In addition to that scholarship program, there are many different types of scholarships that are available based on academic record, financial need, group affiliation, or some combination of these factors. For both the undergrad, and graduate program WVU received student all over the United States, and certain part of the world. Since this school was founded in 1867, WVU has developed into a center of graduate and professional educations research, and extension programs in West Virginia. Today WVU, including the regional campuses of Potomac State College of West Virginia University and West Virginia University Institute of Technology, which enrolls approximately thirty three hundreds students and seven hundreds of those, are graduate students.
