Vodpod.com is a video sharing service created by Remixation, inc., a company founded in 2006 and based in San Francisco, California.

The homepage features a list of currently popular and just added videos, as well as a tag list that visitors can use to fins videos by keyword. Videos on the site are sorted by six major categories: popular, music, funny, politics, sports, and anime. ‘Popular’ videos are divided into most collected, most watched, most discussed, and live; ‘Music’ videos are divided into several music genres; ‘Funny’ videos are sorted by show and style; and ‘Sports’ videos are divided into sport type.

Visitors must register for a free account in order to create a profile, add videos and access other member only services. Once registered, members can search for videos or embed video code to add videos to the site; they can import videos from their blog, Youtube, Twitter, and more; and they can upload a video (requires a Youtube account). Members can organize and edit their videos by clicking the ‘Organize your Videos’ link. The ‘Share and Publish’ section provides links for members to place their video collections on various social networking sites. The ‘Recent Activity’ section displays the most recent videos added and the latest actions performed by the member.

The site also provides a service called ‘VodSpot’ which lets anyone create a video site and host it on their own domain. This service can be found by clicking the ‘Publishing’ button at the bottom of the page or by clicking the ‘Learn More’ link in the ‘Create your own video site’ section on the homepage.
