“Hook ‘em Horns,” is the almost universally-recognized battle cry of the University of Texas at Austin. The hand gesture, made by extending the pinky finger and index finger, is used to emulate the horns of the Texas mascot, Bevo the steer.

With over 37,000 students, the University of Texas at Austin (or simply, “Texas”) is the largest university in Texas, and the fifth largest in the United States. In addition to being known for its outstanding sports program, the Texas Longhorns excel in both undergraduate and graduate programs. The business, marketing, and management departments – all part of the McCombs School of Business – are ranked nationally, as are the schools of architecture, engineering, and law.

The University of Texas websites attracts over two million visitors on a monthly basis, many of whom are students or prospective students. In addition to information on enrollment, individual colleges and programs of study, and libraries, the website provides in-depth information on the Texas Longhorns athletics program which is ranked fifth in the nation. Both the Texas basketball and football teams regularly rank in the top ten of teams nationally, as do the both the baseball and national champion swimming and diving team.
