Uconn.edu is the official website of the University of Connecticut, a research university located in Storrs, Mansfield, Connecticut. The website is much like other college/university websites, sporting college news and information on academics, research, and the university’s various campuses. Additionally, the site has subpages for current students, prospective students, alumni, faculty and staff, donors, parents, and visitors, each with various resources (like university email, payment management, local news, and college life for current students). The site has a large section entitled About UConn that provides statistics (like how many students received degrees last school year), a list of famous alumni, information on the university’s administration, and a list of awards that the faculty has received. As the University of Connecticut is a land-grant university (a university funded by the development or sale of federally-controlled land given to the states), the university has many community outreach programs, which can be viewed in the Outreach section. The Academics tab includes a list of majors, graduate and honors programs; the Registrar, undergraduate admissions, libraries, and the university’s course catalogue; and the Research tab includes both undergraduate and graduate research with links to the university’s administrative bodies in charge of research (especially the Office for Sponsored Programs) and to the website of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Education.
