My first impression of the homepage of true.com.com was that the site is very clean and uncluttered. My expectation of going into a dating site was that it would be filled with tacky photos of happy couples looking into each other’s eyes. Not so, and that is a good thing.

True.com.com lives up to its name. It is the only dating site on the net that actually does background checks on its members. When I read that, I was instantly impressed. The “Safer Dating” tab goes into detail about all the ways it screens its applicants. True.com sets itself apart from other dating sites in many other ways as well.

There is a “compatibility test” that each member can take to get more insight into their selves and therefore have a better idea of who their ideal mate might be. One focus is on communication, offering chat rooms and message boards on topics of all kinds. There is a “profile questionnaire” that asks very specific questions on what kind of person the customer is looking for.

The “coaching” section gives the member guidance on dating and tips on what they could be doing better and how to break old dating habits. When a member is matched with another person, it can be on many different levels, such as interests, personality, communication and even sexual.

The layout is consistent throughout the site. The verbiage is all very professional with no grammatical errors or typos. This site seems to be directed at professional singles. The designers did a good job with this and most likely have captured their intended audience.

The only big drawback is that the price is a little steep at $50 a month for the basic package. Otherwise, I like the site. It is easy to navigate, professional looking and well maintained.
