suntimes.com is the official website of the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. The website has quite a bit of content on the home page, with pictures, articles and links all over the place. There is top-level navigation on the site home page below a couple of banner advertisements with links to news, sports, business, classifieds, entertainment, blogs and an RSS feed, among other items. At the very top of the home page there are classifieds category links along with a drop-down menu linking to other newspapers. At the top of the page just above the top navigation there is a search box allowing the user to search the website or the Internet. The final thing to note about the top of the home page is the links to subscribe to the newspaper or obtain customer service. In the middle of the page there is a scrolling “news alerts” along with an option to login or register to the site community. The site has a section for “web only” stories that are not listed in the newspaper, along with a screen print of the front page of the days’ newspaper. On the left hand side there are links to author websites, classifieds and other items such as daily features and crossword puzzles. Finally, there is a featured blog on the right hand side and the usual links at the bottom of the website to Contact Us, About Us, and etceteras.
