Both individuals and organizations can use slideshare.net to showcase their presentations to a large audience or to locate presentations on topics that they find useful. Slideshare allows users to upload their PowerPoint presentations or Word documents, and audio files can be synched with the documents to create multimedia presentations. Users are not required to log in to view any of the slideshows hosted on the website, however free sign-up allows users to upload their own content, favorite other presentations, and join groups or connect with other members. Slideshare offers users the opportunity to embed their slideshows into their own blogs and websites, as well.
