Mevio, once known as PodShow, is part of an online entertainment network, primarily aimed at young, male, iPod users. Its initial purpose was to enable iPod users to easily create, share, and download Podcasts. Mevio is now used as an advertising venue for products, films, and other media, and a way for these companies to feed their products to users’ iPods.

Mevio – “Home of Personality-Driven Entertainment” – acts as a blog site, a social networking site, as well as a home for downloads. The home page consists of links to a channel guide, video and audio Podcasts, and links to advertisers’ Podcasts. A daily video produced by Mevio appears on the home page, telling users what is new on the site.

Media is grouped in categories such as “Mevio Tech,” “Mevio Women,” “Mevio Men,” and “Mevio Music.” Media within these categories are broken down further into “Geek,” “Music Videos,” “Women Today,” etc. There is a seemingly endless amount of content to view or download to your Ipod.

Mevio’s demographics reflect the youthful, male, technologically-savvy group it appears aimed at. 54% of visitors are male, 44% are between the ages of 18 and 34, and 62% have no children. Interestingly enough, 34% of users are non-Caucasian, which is particularly high for this type of site.
