Hud.gov is the official website for the United States department of Housing and Urban Development. The site lays claim to information that anyone would need to know concerning the department of Housing and Urban Development. And to help broaden the target audience, the site is available both in English and in Spanish. The first option available is to search for information depending on the state you live in as rules and regulations tend to differ slightly from state to state. Now throughout the page are links and small blurbs about different programs available and links to sites that can be useful in better understanding certain aspects of the specific subject. Also there are several links that give information about how to do things such as: how to buy a HUD home, how to avoid foreclosure, how to apply for public housing and Section 8, and how to find a HUD-approved lender. Adjacent to this section there is an area that helps find homes that are for sale and the prices they are listed for. Below this is a section that has 3 drop-down bars that specify which information it can provide for each person and allow users to look for information similar to people in their same situation. There is also a section labeled “Important Links” that simply provides just that in listing special links that navigate the user to places such as: the Tax Credit Assistance Program, HUD’s strategic plan, HUD’s 2010 budget summary, and other things similar to the aforementioned. With information such as this, Hud.gov serves as an excellent research to use when looking to acquire more information about the Housing and Urban Development department.
