Homestead is a web hosting and web-design company providing self use software for web creation, website hosting of user created pages and various services associated with website design, advertising and hosting. The company is owned by Intuit Corporation.

Customers start with choosing a template from over two thousand available designs, adding and subtracting from the template based on preferences. The software is easy to use and requires no programming knowledge. Customers can utilize a vast library of graphics and photos or they can provide their own content. Editing also includes text, colors, fonts and links. Customers can change their design at any time and are not required to sign a long term contract.

Once the design process is completed, customers can select from a number of web hosting packages that range from $5 to $50 per month and include such features as personalized domain names, company email addresses, tracking tools and shopping cart functionality utilizing Pay Pal or credit cards. Storage options range from 25 MB to 10 GB, while bandwidth options range from 5GB/month to 500 GB/month. For higher priced packages, customers can have from 100 web pages to an unlimited number of pages, including multiple websites and multiple email addresses for all of the employees of a company.

The website also features advertising options. Customers can choose from two different options. The first includes hosting on the Intuit business directory. The second involves aggregated pay-per-click advertising. Customers are assisted with creating ad copy and registering ads with multiple search engines. Fees are based on the customer’s business industry.
