Fiu.edu is the official website of Florida International University, one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Florida. The website is a typical college/university website, with community news, information on admissions for prospective students, information on the school’s academics, and living at FIU, as well as portals for students, faculty, and staff. The front page features a slide show of recent news stories as well as informational spotlights on student life and students themselves. The Admissions tab provides information for the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as for the university’s law and medicine colleges and for financial aid. The Academics tab discusses the university’s majors, its various colleges/schools, research, studying abroad, and other related subjects, and Life @ FIU covers both life on campus and in surrounding Miami. Athletics takes you to the university’s sports sight, fiusports.com, which covers both men and women’s sports and the athletic department, and the News tab is an archive of all of the news articles the site has featured. Lastly, the Giving tab is where you can give donations to the university online. The site’s main other feature is the Quick links/Tools link, which opens up a menu on the top of the page with a campus map, calendars, and student, faculty, and staff resources.
