Exploratorium.edu is the official website of the Exploratorium, a hands-on science and art museum located in San Francisco which was founded by Dr. Frank Oppenheimer. The front page features a slide show of current and upcoming exhibits and events, as well as subpage. You can participate in various online activities, like finding out your age and weight on other worlds, making a petroglyph, and doing a virtual dissection of a cow’s eye. On the right of the page is information about where the Exploratorium and related sites are, its hours, its calendar, and its contact information, as well as the site’s Twitter posts and links to its Facebook, Flickr, MySpace, YouTube and similar pages. The Who Are You tab lets you browse certain activities and information depending on whether you are a parent, an educator, an artist, a museum professional, a scientist, or just curious. The Explore tab also lists all of those activities and subpages, and the Visit tab provides further information about locations, hours, and exhibits. The Membership tab provides information on and the chance to obtain membership with the Exploratorium, and the Support tab provides information on donations and other forms of support. The Shop tab features the store’s online shop, with books, gadgets, science kits, and gifts, and the About tab tells the history and mission of the Exploratorium.
