Regular visitors comprise a large percentage of the site’s traffic, indicating product fidelity (apparently a must, in this time of economic uncertainty). As well as product sales, service, parts and supplies, the site offers an extensive range of servers, and both real and virtual data storage solutions for individuals and businesses alike. This would indicate the growing trend in data storage through virtual means, rather than on hard drives or even (for those stuck in another century) disks. The site is logically and thoughtfully designed, as one would expect, and is easy to navigate, attracting an older audience tending towards the well-educated. One rather disquieting aspect of the site is the “Healthcare and Life Sciences” section (suggesting that we are only as healthy as our lowest-GB laptop), but which actually does mention – as part of the larger concept of computer “health” – connecting real healthcare centers and clinics through Dell networking services to promote “the future of healthcare” and patient care. However, it is also symptomatic of the “string of acquisitions by Dell to beef up its IT services and consulting business. The computer maker has been focusing on those areas to meet companies' preference for technology providers than can supply hardware, software, and services expertise” (Gonsalves, Anton. Information Week January 9, 2009 ).
