Daily Kos is an online political community with 2.5 million unique visitors per month and 215,000 registered users. It is a news organization, community and activist hub. The website’s homepage is fairly simple and easy to navigate. It features a main section that promotes Diaries that have not had much views and recommend the visitor to comment on them to let the diarist know that his or her efforts were appreciated. Diaries are simply articles. To the right hand side of the web page is a menu bar. The menu bar features five main categories; Menu, About , Recommended Diaries, Recent Diaries, DailyKos Feeds, and Blogroll. Under the Menu categories one can find the subcategories Home, Diaries, DKospeida, Search, Create and Account, Login, and Lose your Password(?). To write a Diary and to be able to post it on the website one must create an account with DailyKos. After one has created an account with DailyKos one must login in to add the post. Under the About category one can find links to DailyKos’s advertising section and the Daily Kos Store. One has four advertising levels with different pricing; Premium Slot, Second Slot, Regular Ad Strip, and Classifieds. The Dialy Kos store sells tee shirts, hooded sweatshirts and beanies with varies Daily Kos labels.
