Care2.com is a website founded in 1998 with the goal of uniting people who believe in causes that positively impact the world.

The homepage features links to lifestyle articles, recipes, community news, and a ‘Causes we care about’ section with links to featured causes. The homepage also features a ‘Quick Links’ section with links to popular areas of the site, as well as a ‘Featured Action’ section with a list of recent petitions, a ‘Care2 Community’ section displaying a random list of site members, a ‘Randy’s Blog’ section displaying a link to blog of site founder, Randy Paynter, and a ‘eCard of the Day’ section featuring a daily ecard that visitors can send by email to have the site donate money to a cause.

The ‘Causes & News’ section displays a scrolling list of cause categories, such as women’s rights, animal rights, human rights, and more. This section also displays a list of popular causes, latest news, polls, and a ‘Today in Care2 Causes’ section that displays links to information about the latest important causes. Registered members can submit news stories to this section.

The ‘Healthy & Green Living’ section features links to lifestyle and health articles, as well as a ‘Greenscope’ horoscope section, a ‘Feng Shui’ section, a ‘Daily Green Tip’ section with a tip about becoming environmentally friendly, a list of recent comments made in this section, a list of contests and sweepstakes, and a ‘Meet the Experts’ section that profiles the site’s expert content contributors.

The ‘Take Action’ section provides a list of hot petitions, as well as petitions sorted by category. There is also an ‘Activist Toolkit’ section that provides links to starting a petition, posting a news story, creating a blog on the site, and joining a group. The ‘Together we can make a difference’ section displays a list of site statistics, such as the number of petitions created and the number of signatures obtained for various causes. This section also features links along the top of the page to thepetitionsite.com, an affiliated site where members can post and sign petitions; a ‘Click to Donate’ section, which provides a list of causes members can donate to by clicking the ‘Free Click’ link in front of each one; a ‘Volunteer’ section where visitors can search for volunteering opportunities in their area; and a ‘Job Finder’ section where visitors can search for green collar jobs within their area.

The ‘Community’ section displays a list of members, groups, member photos, member updates, and recent blog posts. Members can also click the ‘Get Started’ link under the ‘Create your Page’ section to create a detailed profile page.
