Blurtit.com is a social networking site where visitors can ask and answer questions in categories ranging from technology to health. Questions can be browsed by anyone but membership is required in order to ask or answer a question. Visitors can complete the short registration form on the ‘Sign-Up’ page and once their account is activated, they can create a brief profile with personal details, interests and a photo. Each member can access their profile by clicking on the ‘My Profile’ button on the top of the page or by clicking the ‘My Account’ link on the bottom left of the page.

To ask a question, the user simply clicks the ‘Ask a Question’ tab on the top left of the page and completes a short form; users can also attach a picture to their question. To answer a question, the user clicks the ‘Answer a Question’ tab on the top left of the page and is directed to an area where they can browse the latest unanswered questions and suggest new, more relevant categories for those questions. Members can also watch, share, email and report any question.

The ‘Groups’ section allows members to join groups and interact with thousands of other members through the group forum. There is also a ‘Debates’ section where members can vote on topics and access thousands of debates. However, Blurtit has temporarily suspended the ability to add new debates.
