bettycrocker.com is the official website of Betty Crocker. The main home page of the site is fairly compact with not much scrolling and seemingly well organized content. The website has top-level navigation with links to recipes, cooking, baking, how-to, products, and the community posting, among others. The site displays a larger picture in the middle of the home page featuring either a recipe or something for the family as a whole; there are three different features that you can click on to display. The right hand side of the page also has navigation, starting with a search box and then, from top to bottom, a link to sign up, newsletters, recipe box, grocery lists, recently viewed, community and a user poll. Toward the middle/bottom of the page there are links to the recipe of the day, access to the Betty Crocker iPhone App and information about the Peanut Butter recall (which, I imagine, would be replaced by some other major current event at the time). The very bottom of the home page features a scrolling community text box featuring recent comments by users; additionally, there are advertisements and links to the site map, contact us, etceteras. Diving into other sections of the site, you will discover they are organized similarly to the home page with some side scrolling links such as “browse recipes by category.” Finally, signing up for the website is a fairly easy process with only name, address, and email required to sign up.
