Founded in 1991 by a man Name James P.Etter, American Public University better known as APUS, consist of Tow online Universities, APU, and American Military University better known as AMU. Being that James used to teach in the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, when he retired he decided to other part of the university ca AMU. This university AMU was designed to meet the unique educational needs of the military transient, working adults needing a range of program offerings from traditional courses such as criminal justice to unique courses such as counterterrorism and military intelligence, which are not readily available at most institutions. Which is true, most of the time someone who is in the military , or just got out of the military really don’t have enough time to attend a traditional university. And best thing about this university, it is 100% online. With over five thousand students already attending the both universities, the main focus of this university, is to expand access to quality higher education with emphasis on educating the nation’s military and public service communities by providing respected, relevant, affordable, and student-focused online programs, which prepare them for service and leadership in a diverse, global society.
