Androidcommunity.com is a community site dedicated to the discussion of Android, the operating system developed by Google, specifically in terms of Android and mobile phones, as well as other open platform devices. Open platform devices are software systems that have external programming interfaces that let you utilize the software in ways other than those the programmers originally intended. The main part of the website is a live blog feed with stories on Android, smart phones, and related software and hardware, including previews, reviews, and news. The site’s Store (the link to which is at the top of the page) has all sorts of Android accessories from dozens of manufacturers, as well as support information. The site Forums are where all of the discussion goes on. The Forum sections are Android Discussions, which includes the OS, applications, mods, Android hardware, etc., and the Lounge, which includes a marketplace, a general discussion subsection, and updates. The App Directory tab has a list of all applications that are compatible with Android, and the Groups tab features different networking groups in the community. Lastly, the Knowledge Base section is a forum with informational posts by the site members. However, it is rather sparse, with multiple subsections that do not have even a single post.
