AARP is a website started by the company AARP. The company was founded in 1958. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization that was created to help people that are fifty and older improve their quality of life. The websites homepage features a variety of things such as seven different tabs labeled Health, Money, Leisure, Make a Difference, Family, Online Community, Membership as well as a variety of different boxes labeled Latest News, AARP In The News, Your Daily Dose, Featured Tools, Voices, Spotlight, AARP products and services, membership, and a newsletter. The latest news box features not only news about AARP but general news as well. Located on the home page as well is a search box that allows the visitor to search for items that are located in the website. On the top right hand corner of the home page is a link to join the AARP. After clicking the link one is taken to the application screen. The application to become a member has three steps; Application, Billing, and confirmation. The application requires that the applicant enter their first, middle and last names, date of birth, phone number, mailing address, email, and an option to receive additional benefits in Spanish as well as an option to receive regular material in Spanish whenever available.
