411mania.com is a popular culture website that was first founded in 1996 and has remained an independent-owned media website to this day. The front page has all of the big news articles in popular culture. Each of the sections also corresponds to the tabs at the top: Movies/TV, Wrestling, Music, Games (video games), MMA (mixed martial arts), Boxing, and Politics. Each of the tabs takes you to the subject’s subpage, where you can view the top stories and check out each of the subsections, which can include reviews, news, and more. The Politics section, however, is purely a blog. As a blog, its content is significantly more pointed than that of the other sections. You can also check out the far left of the page on every part of the website to see the Spotlights Bar, which provides a link to the biggest, newest article in each section. The 411 tab lists all of the people who work on the site and their “rank” in its hierarchy, as well as provides links to their personal pages with links to recent articles and blog entries they have written. Lastly, the About Us section provides the story of 411mania’s long and independent history.
